posterEN  This website is dedicated to the work of the French writer Romain Gary (1914-1980) on the occasion of the One-Day Conference celebrating the Centenary of his birth. This honorary event is held on December, 2 by the Literature Department in association with the Laboratory of Comparative Literature, both parts of the School of French of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th)

   The scientific-organising committee of the conference consists of professor Maria Makropoulou, President of the School and Head of the Laboratory of Comparative Literature, and Eugenia Grammatikopoulou, assistant professor at the Literature Department. The secretarial and electronic support, as well as part of the research for the archive material, is taken care of by a team of students of the School. The conference will be funded by the Graduate Program of the School of French Language and Literature and by the Research Committee of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).

The present website presents:

  • General data and archive material on Romain Gary (bibliography, filmography, tributes, etc.)
  • Information concerning the organisation of the One-Day Conference (program, speakers, committee, photos, etc.)
  • Notices of the One-Day Conference (all the presentations of the participants will be monitored and will be available in video and/or in electronic form)

    The website will be updated on a regular basis, as the study of Romain Gary’s work will be the subject matter of undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the Literature Department, during the academic year 2014-2015 (teacher: Eugenia Grammatikopoulou).
